Editorial Standards
Our Commitment
CapitalXO is committed to providing accurate, unbiased, and useful information about commercial financing. Our editorial standards ensure that every piece of content meets the quality expectations of the business professionals who rely on our platform.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content is produced independently of commercial relationships. While CapitalXO may receive compensation from lending partners, this does not influence which products we cover, how we describe them, or the order in which they appear. Advertising and editorial functions are maintained separately.
Commercial Relationships
CapitalXO may maintain commercial relationships with lending partners. Compensation arrangements do not influence editorial conclusions, coverage decisions, or analysis. Where a product or partner relationship exists, this may be disclosed on the relevant page.
Accuracy and Sources
We strive for factual accuracy in all content. Rate data, qualification requirements, and market information are sourced from official lender publications, government agencies (SBA, Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, CFPB), and recognized industry data providers. All sources are cited on the relevant page. When information is based on general industry knowledge rather than a specific source, this is noted.
Review Process
All content on CapitalXO undergoes editorial review before publication. Each page displays a "Last reviewed" date indicating when the content was most recently verified for accuracy. Pages covering time-sensitive information (rates, market trends) are reviewed on a regular schedule and updated as conditions change.
Content Categories
Our content is organized into distinct categories, each with specific editorial standards:
- Financing Products - Factual descriptions of loan types and financing structures. Includes qualification criteria sourced from lender guidelines.
- Industry Guides - Financing information tailored to specific industries, based on industry data and lending patterns.
- Capital Strategy - Educational content about financing approaches and decision frameworks. Clearly positioned as informational, not advice.
- Market Intelligence - Data-driven editorial content with explicit source citations, "data as of" dates, and named author bylines. Published on a regular cadence covering rate monitoring, market analysis, regulatory developments, and original data analysis.
- Resources - Reference materials including glossary terms, tools, and guides.
Use of AI and Editorial Tools
Some content on CapitalXO may be drafted with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. Our AI governance policy:
- Human review is mandatory. No AI-generated content is published without review and sign-off by a named human editor.
- AI-assisted content is labeled. Market intelligence articles drafted with AI assistance display a disclosure noting the AI involvement and identifying the editor who reviewed the piece.
- AI is a drafting tool, not an author. AI may assist with research synthesis, data formatting, and initial drafts. All editorial judgment, source verification, and final content decisions are made by human editors.
- Accountability is clear. Every published article identifies the accountable human author or editor by name.
Corrections Policy
We take accuracy seriously. If you identify an error in our content:
- Email editorial@capitalxo.com with the page URL and a description of the error.
- We will review reported errors within 48 hours.
- Verified factual errors will be corrected promptly. Significant corrections will be noted on the affected page with the correction date.
- Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are made without notation.
Prohibited Language
Our content avoids language that could mislead readers about the nature of our services. We do not use terms such as "guaranteed approval," "instant funding," "no credit check required," or similar phrases that misrepresent how commercial lending works. We do not make promises about approval likelihood, specific rates a reader will receive, or timeframes unless sourced from specific program guidelines.
